Deputy Head Housekeeper

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual with proven supervisory skills and a keen desire to provide high standards of cleanliness, to join our Housekeeping team.  You will have excellent attention to detail and be a self motivated and hard worker, able to deputise for the Executive Head Housekeeper in her absence.  You should have good communication skills and be able to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.  Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Your duties will be to ensure that all cottages and rooms are cleaned to the high standards expected, to keep paperwork up to date, to assist in the training and development of new team members and to be 'hands on' when required.

You would be expected to work 40 hours a week, 5 days out of 7, and in return will receive an excellent remuneration package, 24 days holiday, training and career development, complimentary meals on duty, use of the leisure facilities, share of staff tips, membership of the 'Staff and friends dining scheme' and employee incentive schemes.

Chef de Partie

The Headland is an AA one rosette restaurant and holds the 2007 Visit Cornwall Award for Best Popular Cafe.  There are two food outlets, The Terrace which is open in the day for snacks, drinks and main meals before moving to a more intimate dining experience in the evening.  The Sand Brasserie is the main dining area in the evenings and is used for weddings, conferences and functions.  Both outlets offer menus using the very best local ingredients, imaginately prepared and beautifully served.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a busy, pressurised environment.  You must have a keen eye for details, be able to prioritise and remain calm at all times.  Previous experience of a busy rosette restaurant or a 4 star hotel would be an advantage.

You will be reponsible for assisting in the training and supervision of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters.

Food and Beverage Attendant

We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals with a keen desire to provide high standards of customer service at all times.  You will need to enjoy working with people and be a good communicator, able to work efficiently and effectively in a busy environment.

You will be responsible as part of a team for the preparation of the Bar, Dispense, Terrace and Brasserie ready for service.  You will be required to provide excellent customer service at all times throughout the food service areas, bar and lounges with a good knowledge of the food and drinks available.  You will need to ensure that charging is 100% accurate at all times and pay great attention to detail in your work.

We can offer you either part time  or full time work (approximately 40 hours per week on 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays). Brasserie Supervisor

The Sand Brasserie is an exciting new concept at The Headland, offering fantastic locally sourced food in a contemporary setting combined with a relaxed ambiance and outstanding service.

Would you like to be a key player in the team delivering this experience to hotel and cottage guests, visitors to Newquay and locals?  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to assist our Brasserie Manager in developing this concept further and ensuring its future success.

You will be an excellent communicator with an ability to work accurately and efficiently to deliver excellent support to the team in the day to day running of the Brasserie.  You will be well presented with a keen eye for detail and good organisational skills.  You will have excellent leadership skills, good time keeping and a desire to succeed.

You will be expected to run the Brasserie in the absence of the Manager, assist in the ongoing training and development of the team to maintain standards.  You will be required to assist in the running of weddings and events and also the promotion of the Brasserie to all guests.  You will need to ensure that all charging is carried out effectively and efficiently.  You will be expected to work 40 hours over 5 days including evenings and weekends.

Hall Porter

Do you enjoy meeting and greeting people?  Are you enthusiastic, reliable and hard working?  Would you like to work as part of a friendly and professional team aiming to deliver top quality service at all times?

You could play an important role in meeting and greeting our guests and assisting them with their enquiries and luggage during their stay.  You will be reponsible for accompanying guests to their cottage and delivering their luggage safely as well as providing information and assistance throughout their stay.  You will be expected to assist with the preparation of rooms for meetings and conferences and to ensure the delegates have the equipment and refreshments they require throughout the day.  You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of items to hotel bedrooms and cottages in readiness for arrivals and will be expected to assist all departments to ensure smooth running and efficiency at all times.

You will be the first person to greet arriving guests and often the last person they see, so a friendly and attentive manner with a keen eye for detail is vital.
